Course Description SIBC584
Seminars presented by students of guest speakers on topics of medical biochemistry and molecular biology followed by discussion and question/answer sessions. Seminar activities also include reading Seminar activities also include reading scientific papers and critical appraisal thereof
Major Expected Learning Outcomes
1.1 Students should have moral, professional, and research ethics.
1.2 Students should be disciplined, punctual, and responsible and should follow university rules.
2.1 Students should have profound knowledge of Biochemistry and Medical Molecular Biology
2.2 Students should be able to study independently and systematically.
2.3 Students should possess intellectual curiosity and be able to keep him/herself up to date.
3.1 Students should be able to analyze theoretical data from classes and from other sources.
3.2 Students should be able to analyze and interpret research data systematically.
3.4 Students should be able to carry out academic presentation in multiple formats, e.g. oral, poster, or manuscript.
5.1 Students should be able to use information technology and computers to search for relevant information, have a good judgment when analyzing any information, and present it appropriately.
5.2 Students should be able to use English for communication and presentation of academic work.
5.3 Students should have a comprehensive knowledge in statistical analysis for academic and research work.
6.1 Students should have good technical skills in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and be able to apply them in advanced research towards scientific innovations.
Course Description SIBC585
Weekly meetings to present and discuss about research problems and methods related to selected research articles in medical biochemistry and molecular biology. Critically evaluate scientific approaches and results and identify areas of scientific knowledge that require further experimentation and clarification.
