Published Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University, along with Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Uraiwan Panich, Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacology, and Prof. Dr. Somponnat Sampattavanich, warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Sheng-Hong Chen. An expert in Cancer Biology, Cellular Dynamics, and Systems Biology, Prof. Chen is affiliated with the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica in Taiwan and will serve as the International Siriraj Visiting Scholar at the Department of Pharmacology from October 28th – November 1st, 2024.
During his visit, Prof. Chen presented a special seminar titled “Surfing the Waves of Cell Death during Embryonic Development and Human Pathologies: Ferroptotic Trigger Waves,” which took place on October 31st, 2024, in Room 1212, 12th Floor, Srisavarindhira Building. This seminar highlighted his recent publication in Nature, discussing the emergence of large-scale cell death through ferroptotic trigger waves.
