Siriraj x MIT Hacking Medicine

On October 29th, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), launched Siriraj x MIT Hacking Medicine, an event themed “Scaling Aged Care in Developing Countries” with opening remarks given by Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj, and Prof. Joseph Cherian, Professor and Deputy CEO of the Asia School of Business (ASB) in collaboration with MIT Sloan.

 

With a track record of over 200 hackathons in more than 30 countries, MIT Hacking Medicine has been a launchpad for over 100 companies, collectively raising more than $2.5 billion in funding over the past decade. Alumni from these events include high-impact ventures such as PillPack (acquired by Amazon for $1 billion), RubiconMD (acquired by Oak Street Health for $190 million), and Overjet (backed by $27 million in funding from General Catalyst).

 

The hackathon runs from November 1st –3rd, 2024, culminating in a Hackathon Final Pitches event open to the public.
