Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University<\/em>, arranged \u201cThe First ASEAN Deans\u2019 Summit: Connecting ASEAN Medical Schools Towards One Community<\/strong>\u201d during September 17 \u2013 19, 2012 at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. The ASEAN Deans\u2019 Summit was arranged with the objectives to promote the collaboration among leading medical schools in the ASEAN region, to leverage medical education and health system towards international excellence and prepared to work as one community in 2015.<\/p>\n

The ASEAN Deans\u2019 Summit is the first time in the history of ASEAN whereby the medical education leaders (Deans and Rectors) from 10 nations, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Brunei convened at Siriraj to share their visions and ideas on how to collaborate among one another for the benefits of 600 million ASEAN people. Moreover, 12 medical schools in ASEAN (PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam<\/em>;\u00a0Faculty of Medicine, University of Health Sciences<\/em>, Cambodia;\u00a0International University<\/em>, Cambodia;\u00a0Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia<\/em>;\u00a0Faculty of Medicine, University of Health Sciences<\/em>, Lao PDR;\u00a0Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya<\/em>, Malaysia;\u00a0University of Medicine 1, Yangon<\/em>, Myanmar;\u00a0University of Medicine, Mandalay<\/em>, Myanmar;\u00a0University of Philippines College of Medicine<\/em>;\u00a0Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore<\/em>;\u00a0Hanoi Medical University<\/em>, Vietnam) attended such historic summit at Siriraj. The structure of the\u00a0ASEAN Medical Schools Network<\/strong>\u00a0consists of four working groups:<\/p>\n
