{"id":45077,"date":"2023-06-28T17:56:29","date_gmt":"2023-06-28T10:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.si.mahidol.ac.th\/en\/?p=45077"},"modified":"2023-06-29T10:12:15","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T02:42:15","slug":"siriraj-takes-the-stage-at-ifas-16th-global-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.si.mahidol.ac.th\/en\/news-events\/siriraj-takes-the-stage-at-ifas-16th-global-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Siriraj Takes the Stage at IFA&#8217;s 16th Global Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">On June 28<sup>th<\/sup>, 2023,<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Prof. Weerasak Muangpaisan<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited as a distinguished speaker to share his expertise at the IFA&#8217;s 16<sup>th<\/sup> Global Conference at Presidential Symposium on the topic<em> &#8216;A life-course approach to vaccination to achieve health equity in Asia and beyond&#8217;<\/em> at Marriott Marquis Queen&#8217;s Park, Bangkok.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With his expertise in preventive and social medicine, he shared valuable insights emphasizing the significance of preventative vaccinations in improving adult immunization rates worldwide. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of considering life course immunization within the framework of healthy aging, emphasizing the burden of infectious diseases in older adults and providing insights specific to the South-East Asian context.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The International Federation on Ageing (IFA)<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0is a global NGO that advocates for the rights and well-being of aging populations. Its membership includes various entities and spans 75 countries. The IFA promotes initiatives on aging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The IFA&#8217;s 16<sup>th<\/sup> Global Conference on Ageing, titled<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0&#8220;Challenge, Transformation, Change,&#8221;<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0presents a significant opportunity to shape policies that enhance the quality of life for current and future older individuals.
