From June 1st<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 6th<\/sup>, 2024, Asst. Prof. Ratcharin Kongkasuwan, M.D.<\/strong>, from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, participated in “The 18th<\/sup>\u00a0World Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM)”<\/strong> in Sydney, Australia, to present a poster presentation on the topic, “The effectiveness of inspiratory muscle training using the inspiratory muscle trainer on respiratory muscle strength in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a randomized controlled trial”<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Asst. Prof. Kongkasuwan’s participation will benefit Siriraj as follows:
\n– Enhance techniques and services for ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin and phenol injections for spasticity management
\n– Improve pediatric pain management
\n– Provide teaching and knowledge-sharing opportunities for residents, young staff, and Thai physiatrists
\n– Foster connections with international experts for future research and academic collaborations<\/p>\n

The ISPRM World Congress<\/strong> is a premier forum for presenting international research, discovery, and innovation in Rehabilitation Medicine. The 2024 conference focuses on the three \u201cT\u2019s\u201d<\/strong>: Trauma<\/strong> (including motor vehicle accidents, domestic violence, and the aftermath of war and natural disasters), Technology<\/strong> (from personal devices to robotics), and Timing<\/strong> (exploring prehabilitation, in-reach services, and the optimal duration of rehabilitation).<\/p>\n
