{"id":51987,"date":"2024-09-04T22:43:32","date_gmt":"2024-09-04T15:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.si.mahidol.ac.th\/en\/?p=51987"},"modified":"2024-09-11T09:43:22","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T02:13:22","slug":"siriraj-faculty-abroad-at-the-joint-meeting-of-the-ils-and-els-in-belgium-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.si.mahidol.ac.th\/en\/news-events\/siriraj-faculty-abroad-at-the-joint-meeting-of-the-ils-and-els-in-belgium-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Siriraj Faculty Abroad at the Joint Meeting of the ILS and ELS in Belgium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mr. Ekkarat Wongsawat<\/strong>, a scientist of the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a poster presentation on the topic <em>&#8220;Metagenomic Next-Generation Sequencing: A Way Forward for Understanding Leptospira Diversity in Human Leptospirosis&#8221;<\/em> at the <strong>&#8220;13<sup>th<\/sup> Conference of the International Leptospirosis Society (ILS)&#8221;<\/strong> and the <strong>&#8220;4<sup>th<\/sup> Meeting of the European Leptospirosis and other rodent-borne haemorrhagic fevers Society (ELS)&#8221;<\/strong>, held between September 2<sup>nd <\/sup>&#8211; 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024, in Brussels, Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>The joint meeting of the &#8216;International Leptospirosis Society&#8217; and the &#8216;European Leptospirosis and -other rodent-borne haemorrhagic fevers- Society&#8217; covered recent advances in leptospirosis, focused on advances in leptospirosis research, included discussions on epidemiology, immunology, diagnostics, and One Health approaches.
