{"id":54418,"date":"2025-01-29T15:53:20","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T08:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.si.mahidol.ac.th\/en\/?p=54418"},"modified":"2025-01-30T09:58:04","modified_gmt":"2025-01-30T02:28:04","slug":"the-prince-mahidol-award-2024-laureates-honorary-lectures-at-siriraj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.si.mahidol.ac.th\/en\/news-events\/the-prince-mahidol-award-2024-laureates-honorary-lectures-at-siriraj\/","title":{"rendered":"The Prince Mahidol Award 2024 Laureates&#8217; Honorary Lectures at Siriraj"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On January 29<sup>th<\/sup>, 2025, as a longstanding tradition, the Prince Mahidol Award Laureates visit the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital,<em> the prestigious host and founder of the Prince Mahidol Award<\/em>, to deliver honorary lectures highlighting their outstanding contributions to medical sciences and public health worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>At 9:30 AM, the PMA 2024 Laureates arrived:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prof. Tony Hunter, PhD (UK\/USA)<\/strong>, PMA 2024 Laureates in Medicine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. Jonathan P. Shepherd, DDSc, PhD (UK)<\/strong>, PMA 2024 Laureates in Public Health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Laureates were warmly welcomed by <strong>Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, MD<\/strong>, <em>Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and Vice-Chairman of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation under Royal Patronage<\/em>, alongside administrative and board members of the Faculty. The Laureates then paid respects at <strong>the statue of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla<\/strong> before concluding the welcoming session with a group photo alongside Siriraj&#8217;s executive members.<\/p>\n<p>At 9:45 AM, the Laureates visited <strong>the Prince Mahidol Hall of Fame<\/strong> to explore a collection of Prince Mahidol\u2019s rare possessions and learn about his immense contributions to modern medicine in Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>At 12:00 PM, a <strong>Faculty Luncheon<\/strong> was held at the Sirindhorn Conference Room to honor the Laureates&#8217; significant contributions and achievements.<\/p>\n<p>Following the luncheon at 1:30 PM, the Laureates delivered honorary lectures at the Rachapanaddasirindhorn Auditorium, Srisavarindira Building.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Tony Hunter<\/strong> presented <em>&#8220;From the Discovery of Tyrosine Phosphorylation to Histidine Phosphorylation: Uncovering New Cancer Targets Along the Way.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Jonathan P.
