Research Profile

Innate immunity and host-pathogen interactions, focusing on infectious disease immunology and cell-based therapeutics are my areas of expertise. My research investigates innate immune responses to tropical pathogens including Burkholderia pseudomallei, Orientia tsutsugamushi, Leptospira, and Pythium insidiosum, with emphasis on Toll-like receptor signaling, inflammasome activation, and antimicrobial peptide production in epithelial and phagocytic cells.

Recent work covers development of cultivated oral mucosal epithelial cells as advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) for limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) treatment. The genetic diversity of scrub typhus agents in Southeast Asia has been described by molecular epidemiology investigations.

My research connects basic immunology with clinical applications in infectious diseases, vaccine development, and regenerative medicine.
