Viral Immunology Research Laboratory
Assoc.Prof.Dr.Kobporn Boonnak
(Ph.D.)
Viral Immunology Research Laboratory explore fundamental aspects of immune responses against important emerging viruses including influenza viruses, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Severe Acute Respiratory Virus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), alphaviruses (chikungunya virus), and flaviviruses (dengue and Zika viruses). The goal of our research is to increase basic immunological understanding of these pathogens and their interaction with hosts in order to generate new strategies for preventing and treating viral diseases.
Research Interest
Immunity to respiratory viruses
- Immunity to emerging viral diseases of global importance including pandemic human and avian influenza, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)
- Establishment of primary human cells for studying trhe immune responses to respiratory viruses and potential zoonotic viruses
- Respiratory virus vaccines
Immunity to arboviruses
- Humoral immunity to dengue, Zika and chikungunya viruses
- Immune response to zoonotic arboviruses at animal-human interface
