Course Objective

This international short course is designed for dermatologists and dermatology residents who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of photodermatology, psoriasis and vitiligo. The program provides in-depth understanding and practical training in diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of photodermatoses, phototherapy, psoriasis and vitiligo.

Core Curriculum

The program is conducted at the Division of Photodermatology, Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, which offers comprehensive facilities for NBUVB, excimer, PUVA, UVA1 phototherapy, as well as phototesting and photoprovocation testing. The division also houses specialized clinics for psoriasis, offering biologic treatments and collaborating closely with rheumatologists for comprehensive psoriatic arthritis care. The vitiligo clinic provides melanocyte–keratinocyte transplantation (MKTP) surgery.

The training consists of two main components:

Theoretical Knowledge:

• Lectures on basic and advanced principles of photodermatology, psoriasis and vitiligo
• Journal club and literature reviews

Observation & Participation at Clinic/Lab:

• Photodermatology clinic: phototesting, photoprovocation, and phototherapy
• Psoriasis clinic
• Vitiligo clinic
• Porphyria laboratory

Prerequisite:

• Applicants should hold a Board Certification in Dermatology, a Master’s degree in Dermatology, or have completed a fellowship or any recognized training program in general dermatology for at least two years from accredited institutions.

• Course duration 1 month

Credentials:

Upon completion of the course, the trainees will be eligible for a certificate of "Short Course Training in Photodermatology, Psoriasis and Vitiligo" from Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
