New Research Publication
We are pleased to announce that Jutima Rattanakoch, Asst. Prof. Dr. Manunchaya Samala, Dr. Udomporn Manupibul, Wisavaporn Niamsang, and Mintra Suphab have contributed as the first author, corresponding author, and co-authors, respectively, to the newly published research article:
“Assessment of IMU-derived Lower-limb Kinematics in Transtibial Amputees: A Practical and Accessible Clinical Workflow ”
This study evaluates a consumer-grade inertial measurement unit (cIMU) against a research-grade IMU system (rIMU) for gait analysis in individuals with transtibial amputation. The cIMU demonstrated high repeatability for assessing broad sagittal-plane gait patterns, whereas frontal-plane, transverse-plane, and distal joint measures should be interpreted with caution. These findings suggest that cIMU may provide a cost-effective alternative for sagittal-plane gait analysis in clinical workflows where access to research-grade gait analysis systems is limited.
