“Cheneau Brace based on the German School Schroth Concept for AIS Patients”
มีผู้เข้าร่วมจำนวน 18 คน จากทั้งประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ
โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก Mr. Michael Rexing และ SSPO Spine Team ในการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้และฝึกปฏิบัติอย่างใกล้ชิดตลอด 5 วัน
กิจกรรมครั้งนี้นับเป็นอีกก้าวสำคัญในการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านการดูแลผู้ป่วย Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS)

From July 29 to August 2, 2025, Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics hosted the workshop.
“Cheneau Brace based on the German School Schroth Concept for AIS Patients.”
The event welcomed 18 participants from Thailand and abroad,
led by Mr. Michael Rexing, together with the SSPO Spine Team. Over the course of five days,
participants engaged in intensive knowledge sharing and hands-on practice.
This workshop marks an essential step in advancing professional expertise in the management of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS).

Miss Paporn Chokpitiboon and Miss Kunlanit Boontar have received a staff mobility scholarship from Mahidol University! They participated in a work attachment program in Germany from 23 June to 9 July 2025, focusing on Orthotic Management for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis using the Chêneau brace.
The program was conducted under the supervision and coordination of Mr. Michael Rexing from Human Study e.V.
Their placement sites included:

เมื่อวันที่ 25 กรกฎาคม 2568 โรงเรียนกายอุปกรณ์สิรินธร คณะแพทยศาสตร์ศิริราชพยาบาล มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล

ได้ให้การต้อนรับ Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nasrul Anuar รองคณบดีคณะวิศวกรรมชีวการแพทย์ University of Malaya

พร้อมด้วยบุคลากรจำนวน 2 ท่าน เพื่อเข้าเยี่ยมชมโรงเรียนฯ

การเยี่ยมชมในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและสนับสนุนการทำงานร่วมกันระหว่างทั้งสองสถาบัน

โดยมี อ.ธนธัช จรัสรุ่งโอฬาร เป็นตัวแทนกล่าวต้อนรับและนำเสนอภาพรวมของโรงเรียนฯ

ภาพรวมการเข้าเยี่ยมชม ในช่วงเช้า คณะผู้บริหารและบุคลากรจาก University of Malaya ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมโรงเรียนกายอุปกรณ์สิรินธร

และร่วมพูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับแนวทางความร่วมมือที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต

และได้เดินทางไปเยี่ยมชมคณะวิศวกรรมชีวการแพทย์ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ในช่วงบ่ายวันเดียวกัน

นอกจากนี้ คณะจาก University of Malaya ยังได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมหอสมุดคณะแพทยศาสตร์ศิริราชพยาบาล

เพื่อศึกษาดูงานด้านเทคโนโลยีและระบบสารสนเทศของหอสมุดอีกด้วย

กิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการสร้างความสัมพันธ์และส่งเสริมความร่วมมืออันดีระหว่างสถาบันการศึกษาทั้งสองแห่ง

เพื่อรวมมือกันในการพัฒนาและต่อยอดงานด้านกายอุปกรณ์รวมถึงด้านวิศวกรรมชีวการแพทย์ให้เกิดเป็นรูปธรรมต่อไปในอนาคต

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nasrul Anuar, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, University of Malaya,

along with two other staff members, was welcomed by the Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics,
Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, on July 25, 2025.

The purpose of their visit was to observe the school and the library of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.
Lecturer. Thanatat Charatrungolan gave a welcome speech and presented an overview of the school.

He and the management team discussed potential collaborations and ways to support joint work between the two institutions.

In the afternoon, the visiting party toured the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at Mahidol University.

This visit marks a significant opportunity to build cooperation between the two educational institutions,

with the goal of promoting tangible collaboration in the future.

SSPO Welcomes Burma Children Medical Fund Delegation

.(August 15, 2024) Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics (SSPO), under the esteemed leadership of Associate Professor Gulapar Srisawasdi, Director of SSPO, had the honor of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF) comprising Bridgitte Agocs, Dr. Phyoe Pyae Thu, Dr. Wunn Lei Thwe, Emese Elkind, Saw Aung Tin Tun, and Saw Bway Ko Lo.

During this significant visit, the BCMF representatives delivered an insightful presentation on their work in Burma (Myanmar) and led an engaging discussion on 3D printing in prostheses, and then both parties convened for a meeting to explore potential avenues for collaboration.

Additionally, the BCMF representatives were given a tour of the school, including the Center of Excellence in Prosthetics and Orthotics (CEPO), the research department, and various clinics to gain a comprehensive understanding of SSPO and its devices.

The school hopes to collaborate with BCMF on prosthetic and orthotic matters in the future and views this visitation as the beginning of a strong relationship between the two organizations.

Virtetic Company Explores Game Reality Innovations at Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Fostering Future Research Collaboration

Mr. Simon Yap (Business Development Advisor), Mr. Ricardo Garcia-Rosas (Chief Executive Officer), and Mr. Raphael Mayer (Chief Technology Officer) from Virtetic Company, a digital health firm enabling prosthesis journeys through games and immersive technology, visited the Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics. The purpose was to showcase game reality innovations and discuss future research collaboration. The school, under the leadership of Asst. Prof Dr. Manunchaya Samala, along with academic staff, provided valuable feedback and suggestions for the company.

The school extends its sincere gratitude to Virtetic for their visit, which provided the opportunity to learn about the company’s virtual technologies and experience them firsthand. We hope that the feedback provided will contribute to the progression of this technology in the future.

SSPO Welcomes Prof. Kazuhiro Sakai and Students from Japan for Collaborative Learning Experience

Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics, under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Thanyaporn Rakbangboon, a Deputy Director of Academic Affairs and International Relations, along with the clinical staff, extends a warm welcome to Prof. Kazuhiro Sakai and students from the University of Human Arts and Sciences, Japan. The purpose of their visit is to participate in undergraduate classes and observe clinical practices from September 4 – 9, 2024.

The school hopes that all the visiting students will gain extensive experience with prosthetic and orthotic matters. Additionally, we look forward to them immersing themselves in our cultural context and learning more about our traditions and ways of life during their stay.
