On this occasion, Prof. Tymchuk and Prof. Wells also joined the discussion on students & residency exchange collaboration between Siriraj and UCLA with Siriraj International Relations team led by Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations.

On October 28th, 2019, Siriraj Surgery team led by Lect. Dr. Voraboot Taweerutchana, Director of Surgical Endocrine, Bariatric, and Metabolomic Surgery Center and Prof. Anusak Yiengpruksawan, Siriraj International Visiting Scholars of Department of Surgery attended the General Surgery Session on Challenging and Unusual Problems in Surgery held by American College of Surgeons at Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, California, USA.

On this occasion, two Siriraj Surgeons, namely, Dr. Tharathon Suwatthanarak and Dr. Thikhamporn Tawantanakorn delivered lectures, respectively, on “Giant Esophageal Epiphrenic Diverticuum Treated by Robotic Surgery” and “Robotic Splenectomy with Aneurysmectomy for Splenic Tumor with Large Splenic Arterial Aneurysm” at the conference. #sirirajfacultyabroad #irsiriraj

 

Congratulations! Dr.Parichat Tanmit, the fellow from Division of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery, the winner of the oral presentation on the topic “Evaluation of Iliocaval Venous Obstruction in Thai Patients with Advanced Chronic Venous Insufficient” at the 20th Congress of Asian Society for Vascular Surgery (ASVS 2019) in Bali, Indonesia during October 23th -26th, 2019.

Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations and the President of IASGO: Thailand Chapter welcomed all distinguished participants from all over the world to the 31st World Congress of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists 2019 (IASGO 2019) at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World, Bangkok, Thailand.

IASGO 2019 is the world congress held during October 3rd – 5th, 2019 under the objective to provide an opportunity for surgeons, gastroenterologists and oncologists from around the world to share the most updated knowledge and expertise, and to exchange the new approaches and challenges that we all would encounter in the field of Surgical endoscopy, GI tract surgery, HPB surgery, and Oncology.

We are delighted to announce that we have signed the MOU with University of Malaya Medical Center!
The MOU focused on the breast fellowship training and education exchange program.

On October 1st, 2019, Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, along with Siriraj executive members welcomed Prof. Tunku Kamarulzaman bin Tunku Zainol Abidin, Director, and the distinguished delegates from University of Malaya Medical Center, Malaysia to attend the MOU signatory ceremony between Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University and University of Malaya Medical Center. The MOU allowed both parties to collaborate more efficiently via the exchange program, especially the breast fellowship training program. On this occasion, the Director and team were also escorted to meet with Asst. Prof. Witsanu Kumthornthip, Chairman of Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suebwong Chuthapisith, Head Division of Head-Neck and Breast Surgery, and to visit Outpatient Pharmacy to learn about the Automatic Tablet Dispensing & Packaging System (ATDPS) arranged by Assoc. Prof. Cherdchai Nopmaneejumruslers, Vice Director of Siriraj Hospital.

Congratulations to Dr. Thet Naung Soe, and Dr. Aung Ye Kyaw, the Surgeons from Myanmar under the scholarship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand, for their successful completion in “Siriraj International Short Training Program in General Surgery” at Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital between July 22nd – September 6th, 2019. The two doctors received the certificate of completion from Assoc.Prof. Chanean Ruansetakit, Chairman of Department of Surgery, witnessed by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vitoon Chinswangwatanakul, Chief of Division of General Surgery, and Assoc.Prof. Woramin Riensuwarn from Division of General Surgery.

On September 2nd, 2019, Dr. I Gusti Putu Hendra Sanjaya from Medicine Udayana University, Indonesia, attended Siriraj’s international short training program “Clinical Observership Training Program in Burn and Wound” at Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital starting from September 2nd – 30th, 2019, under the supervision of Assoc.Prof. Chongdee Aijanepong, Chief of Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Welcome, three World Health Organization’s Bariatric Surgery Fellows from D.P.R. Korea: Dr. Ri Su Hyon, Dr. Ri Song Bu, and Dr. Han Yong Il to attend Siriraj international short training program “12-Week Training Program in Treatment and Management of Obesity” at Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit, Department of Surgery, under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Voraboot Taweerutchana, Director of Surgical Endocrine, Bariatric and Metabolomic Surgery Center, Division of General Surgery, starting from September 2nd – November 22nd, 2019. The W.H.O. Fellows also received the warm welcome from Assoc.Prof. Chanean Ruansetakit, Chairman of Department of Surgery, on their first day.

On August 28th, 2019, Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations welcomed Dr. Lubna Kamani from Liaquat National Hospital and AKUH Clifton Medical Services, Karachi, Pakistan to undertake an Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) at Siriraj GI Endoscopy Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital for two weeks.
