During October 21st – 22nd, 2021, the founding members of the China-ASEAN University Consortium on Medicine and Health: ASEAN-China Centre, Peking University Health Science Center, and Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, co-hosted the international conference “2021 China-ASEAN Conference on Partnership in Medicine and Health”. The panel includes the annual meeting of the alliance, the council, and three sub-forums: “Prevention and Control Technology and Policy of Emerging Infectious Diseases”, “Critical Care Technology of Emerging Infectious Diseases”, and “Epidemic Information Analysis and Prevention and Control Strategy”. On this two-day event, Prof. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with his administrative team members: Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for Administration, Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for International Relations, and two Assistant Dean for International Relations: Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee, and Asst. Prof. Warut Pongsapich attended the conference on behalf of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
The China-ASEAN Conference on Partnership on Medicine and Health is a high-level exchange and cooperation platform for China-ASEAN medical schools, which will help improve the “regional joint prevention and control the health emergency response capacity”, “promote the construction of regional infectious disease treatment network and cooperation mechanism”, and “promote regional joint prevention and control cooperation of infectious diseases”. It will also inject new vitality into the cooperation between China and ASEAN in the field of health.
