On March 21st – 24th, 2024, Clinical Prof. Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, M.D., Chairman of Mahidol University Council, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., President of Mahidol University, along with Mahidol Executive Members including Prof. Suroj Supavekin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations on behalf of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital visited Dhulikhel Hospital, a university hospital affiliated with Kathmandu University in Nepal. The purpose of the visit was to discuss further collaboration opportunities.
Additionally, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Upendra Yadev, Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal and Minister for Health and Population, and H.E. Mr. Suwapong Sirisorn, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Nepal, to discuss past cooperation and potential future collaborations.
During the visit, Mahidol University celebrated the 15-year partnership with Dhulikhel Hospital. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Ram K.M. Shrestha, Executive Director of Dhulikhel Hospital, and the hospital’s executive team. The delegation had the opportunity to tour various departments and the laboratory, including the Operating Room, Otorhinolaryngology, Nursing and Midwifery, Public Health, Orthopedics, and the Infectious Disease Laboratory. Discussions focused on knowledge exchange and potential collaborations in academics, research, and student exchanges.
Furthermore, the Mahidol University delegation met with Nepalese Mahidol University alumni and representatives from the public sector of Nepal, totaling more than 200 participants.
