Short Training Program at Siriraj’s Orthopaedic Surgery

Welcome, Dr. Edward George Jeans from Wrightington Hospital, United Kingdom, to undertaking the “Clinical Observership Training Program in Hand and Microsurgery” at the Division of Hand and Microsurgery, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Roongsak Limthongthang during April 4^th – July 8^th, 2022. Dr. Jeans aims to understand the topic as follows:
1.) The diagnosis and investigation of peripheral nerve injury.
2.) In-depth knowledge and exposure to the decision making process around when to operate in cases of peripheral nerve injury
3.) Practical experience of peripheral nerve surgery
– Primary nerve repair
– Nerve grafting
– Nerve transfer
– Tendon transfer
– Free muscle transfer
4.) Experience of the patient journey from injury through surgery to rehabilitation and return to function.
