Between October 31st and November 1st, 2024, Asst. Prof. Ruchira Ruangchira-urai, MD, from the Department of Pathology, participated in the “76th Annual Fall Meeting of the Korean Society of Pathologists” and the “8th Annual Conference of the Asia-Australasian Pulmonary Pathology Society (AAPPS)”, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
At the “AAPPS Session: Interesting Cases”, Asst. Prof. Ruangchira-urai delivered a lecture on the topic “Connective tissue disease-associated nonspecific interstitial pneumonia and rare complications following lung transplantation”.
Upon her return, the knowledge and experience gained will significantly benefit Siriraj Hospital in the following ways:
1. Knowledge Sharing
– Updates from her lectures and discussions will be shared with colleagues, residents, and students during teaching sessions, enhancing pathology training and education.
2. Improved Patient Care
– Insights into rare complications will strengthen diagnostic support, contributing to better patient outcomes.
3. Network Building
– As a councilor of the AAPPS since 2019, she has fostered collaborations for knowledge exchange. These efforts will be pivotal as AAPPS co-hosts its annual meeting with the 14th Asia Pacific International Academy of Pathology Congress in Thailand in 2025, reinforcing Siriraj Hospital’s international prominence.
Additionally, Asst. Prof. Ruangchira-urai’s presence at the conference was invaluable for advancing the diagnosis and management of myositis, with a focus on driving research and improving care for Thai patients.
