Published From June 1st – 6th, 2024, Asst. Prof. Ratcharin Kongkasuwan, M.D., from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, participated in “The 18th World Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM)” in Sydney, Australia, to present a poster presentation on the topic, “The effectiveness of inspiratory muscle training using the inspiratory muscle trainer on respiratory muscle strength in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a randomized controlled trial”.
Asst. Prof. Kongkasuwan’s participation will benefit Siriraj as follows:
– Enhance techniques and services for ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin and phenol injections for spasticity management
– Improve pediatric pain management
– Provide teaching and knowledge-sharing opportunities for residents, young staff, and Thai physiatrists
– Foster connections with international experts for future research and academic collaborations
The ISPRM World Congress is a premier forum for presenting international research, discovery, and innovation in Rehabilitation Medicine. The 2024 conference focuses on the three “T’s”: Trauma (including motor vehicle accidents, domestic violence, and the aftermath of war and natural disasters), Technology (from personal devices to robotics), and Timing (exploring prehabilitation, in-reach services, and the optimal duration of rehabilitation).
