Published Asst. Prof. Thanyaporn Rakbangboon, B.Sc., M.Sc., Deputy Director of Academic Affairs and International Relations, and Lecturer Sirirat Seng-iad, M.A., B.Sc., from Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics (SSPO), were invited as a guest speakers at a practical conference “SCOPe Program – Spinal Orthotics Practical Training Session” organized by Human Study e.V., Germany, at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, the People’s Republic of China. The conference was held from June 24th – 29th, 2024. Thirteen prosthetists and orthotists from hospitals in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region attended this practical training session. Prior to this practical session, theoretical training was conducted online from May 8th – June 12th, 2024.
During the practical training, participants learned about the “Chêneau orthosis” for patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and practiced patient assessment, measurement and casting, positive model modification, orthosis fabrication, and fitting.
