Ms. Saowaluk Silpasakorn, a medical scientist of the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a poster presentation on the topic “A Two-decade Experience: Simultaneous Diagnosis Of Leptospirosis, Scrub Typhus, And Murine Typhus Using An Indirect Immunofluorescent Assay Panel In Thailand” at the “13th Conference of the International Leptospirosis Society (ILS)” and the “4th Meeting of the European Leptospirosis and other rodent-borne haemorrhagic fevers Society (ELS)”, from September 2nd – 4th, 2024, in Brussels, Belgium. Her participation fosters knowledge exchange, particularly in modern diagnostic techniques, and strengthens Siriraj Hospital’s global research network.
The joint meeting of the ‘International Leptospirosis Society’ and the ‘European Leptospirosis and -other rodent-borne haemorrhagic fevers- Society’ covered recent advances in leptospirosis, focused on advances in leptospirosis research, included discussions on epidemiology, immunology, diagnostics, and One Health approaches. The platform also facilitated professional networking, promoting collaborative efforts to tackle public health challenges worldwide.
