Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, led by Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean o, and Assoc. Prof. Varalak Srinonprasert, Head of Siriraj Health Policy Unit, participated in the 3rd/2023 committee conference of Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) held on August 28th-29th, 2023, at the Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket, Phuket, and the 4th PMAC 2024 Preparatory Meeting held on September 25th-27th, 2023 at The Rockefeller Foundation, New York, United States.
These meetings aimed to discuss and deliberate on the details of the PMAC 2024 program, including the sessions and speakers, abstract selection process, field trips, and other related activities. In addition, the discussions aimed at shaping the future development directions of PMAC and determining the main themes for PMAC 2025.

Prof. Chanchai Sittipunt, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Dr. Suwit Wibulpolprasert, Dr. Viroj Tangcharoensathien, Prof. Emeritus Churnrurtai Kanchanachitra, Dr.Jadej Thammatacharee, representatives from the Ministry of Public Health, representatives from the International Health Policy Program (IHPP), representatives from the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP) as well as Co-hosts representatives such as WHO, The World Bank, UNICEF, UNAIDS, The Global Fund, JICA, USAID, The Rockefeller Foundation, Chatham House, NUS, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, FHI 360, IFMSA, and other organizations were also present at the meeting.
The Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) is an important platform where health experts worldwide come together to present and discuss policies that impact global society and healthcare systems. The main theme of PMAC 2024 is “Geopolitics, Human Security, and Health Equity in an Era of Polycrises,” which focuses on international cooperation in a context where various types of threats coincide on a global scale, affecting the health of populations in different ways.
