2. Service
- The division provides care for general critically-ill children in PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) and RCU (Respiratory Care Unit) with the total capacity of 12 beds. We have 450-500 admissions per year. The main admission diagnoses are severe pneumonia including acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute asthmatic attack, septic shock and postoperative care.
- Provide extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) service together with Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Provide continuous renal replacement therapy together with Division of Pediatric Nephrology approximately 10 cases per year.
- Provide postoperative care for high-risk cases e.g. neurosurgery, abdominal surgery, airway surgery, etc.
- Central venous catheter insertion for patients under the care of Department of Pediatrics, approximately 150 cases per year.
- Provide sedation for bronchoscopy patients every Thursday 9-11am.
