2. Services

  • Pediatric pulmonology clinic on Wednesday from 1.00-4.00 pm and after hours clinic
  • Inpatient consultation about respiratory problems from both pediatrics department and other departments
  • Referral center for patients with complex respiratory diseases from provincial hospitals
  • Preoperative consultation for risk assessment and preoperative management in high-risk patients for respiratory complications from general anesthesia during surgery
  • Pulmonary function test services with high technology and standardized equipments such as forced oscillation techniques (FOT), spirometry, lung volume measurements, lung diffusion capacity, respiratory muscle strength, cough peak flow, etc
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic interventions include fiberoptic laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) and brush biopsy for microbiological examination and cultures, etc.
  • Field exercise test (6 minutes walk test)
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures include thoracentesis, chest tube insertion with/without fibrinolysis, medical pleurodesis, pleural biopsy, etc
  • Diagnostic sleep tests include overnight oximetry and polysomnography
  • Non-invasive ventilation treatments and titration include continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bilevel positive airway pressure (BIPAP) and invasive ventilation treatments and titration include hospital and home ventilator
  • Respiratory care services include bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy and respiratory muscle training with effective equipments such as PEP device, EzPAP, incentive spirometer, mechanical insufflation-exsufflation (Cough Assist) and high frequency chest wall oscillation (VEST), etc
  • Respiratory home care program

3. Training

  • Medical student and pediatric resident training about pediatric respiratory problems
  • Fellowship training for certificated pediatric pulmonology fellow
  • Elective program training for interested medical students, postgraduate doctors and nurses
