New Research Publication
We are delighted to announce that Nattapon Limrattanakan, Dr. Udomporn Manupibul, Dr. Pitchaya Rayothee, and Tatjirat Phothipakraksa have contributed as the first author, corresponding author, and co-authors, respectively, to the newly published research article:
“Biomechanic Analysis of Load Asymmetry in Unilateral Transtibial Prosthesis Users with Manual Lock Knee as an Ankle Joint During Sit-to-Stand and Lifting”
This preliminary study investigates how simulating free ankle motion with a manual-lock knee joint serving as the ankle joint affects weight distribution during sit-to-stand and lifting tasks among transtibial prosthesis users. Using motion analysis and electromyography, the findings suggest that free ankle motion may improve load symmetry during sit-to-stand, but not during lifting. These results highlight that free prosthetic ankle motion could enhance load symmetry during specific functional movements, suggesting that its effectiveness may depend on the type of activities.
