We are pleased to announce that Dr. Pitchaya Rayothee, Asst. Prof. Dr. Manunchaya Samala, and Assoc. Prof. Gulapar Srisawasdi have contributed as the first and corresponding author, and co-authors, respectively, to the newly published research article:
“Scoliosis Casting System: Apparatus Design, Procedural Implementation, and Force Magnitude Measurement for Trunk Postural Correction in Scoliosis Patients”
This research develops a novel multi-planar scoliosis casting apparatus and force-measuring system to calculate the biomechanical forces applied during spinal orthosis casting in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis.
The system demonstrated that it can effectively assist orthotists during casting and successfully measure force magnitude.
Findings reveal that the optimal correction requires lower forces than passive bracing correction, suggesting its potential to facilitate active patient self-correction.
