On August 8th, 2019, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana presided over “Princess Chulabhorn International Oncology Conference 2019” on “New Frontiers in Cancer Combat” to commemorate Her Royal Highness’s assiduous efforts in advancing the boundaries of cancer research and care for the betterment of health and quality of life of Thai people.

This international conference was cohosted by Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University, Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University, and Chulabhorn Royal Academy held during August 8th – 9th, 2019 at Centara Grand Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

The International Conference was seasoned by many reputed international and domestic speakers, namely, Prof. Harald Zur Hausen, the Nobel Laureate 2008, Chairman & Professor of Virology at the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg, Germany, and Chairman of the Board of the German Cancer Research Centre, and Prof. Yasuyuki Yoshizawa, President of Tokyo Medical and Dental Univesity (TMDU), Japan.

We are glad to announce that we have signed the Academic Cooperation Agreement on Joint Degree Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences with Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), Japan.

On August 7th, 2019, the Signatory Ceremony was held at Siriraj Medical Library, 4th floor by having Prof. Yasuyuki Yoshisawa, President of TMDU, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, Acting President of Mahidol University, Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Somchai Trakarnrung, Deputy Dean for Educational Management, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, Mahidol University as the representative of each sector to sign the Academic Cooperation Agreement.

 

During August 2nd – 4th, 2019, Assoc.Prof. Suebwong Chuthapisith, Chief of the Division of Head, Neck, and Breast Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, attended the international conference “22nd Asian Congress of Surgery” in Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Assoc.Prof. Suebwong was a designated chairperson of the SYMPOSIUM 16 – Surgical Techniques In Breast Surgery: Beyond The Norm.

During this occasion, Assoc.Prof. Suebwong also visited the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine University of Malaya, and discussed about the MoU in Fellowship Exchange Program, and the Research in Breast Diseases.

On  August 5th, 2019, Assoc.Prof. Suebwong led 12 faculty members from Department of Surgery, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, to attend the “Non-Technical Skills Workshop” co-hosted by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the College of Surgeons of Malaysia at the Advance Surgical Skill Center, UKM Medical Center, Malaysia.

On August 5th, 2019, Prof. Suwannee Suraseranivongse, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School along with Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nisarat Opartkiattikul, Director of Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics, conducted the reflective presentation from Siriraj students who completed “Siriraj Health Science Student Scholarship”.

Assoc.Prof. Pichai Leerasiri, Head of Urogynecology Unit, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, welcome Doctor Myat Noe Swe from North Okkalapa General and Teaching Hospital, University of Medicine 2, Myanmar, to undertake Siriraj’s international short training program “3-Month Clinical Observership Program at Urogynecology Unit” starting from August 5th – November 1st, 2019.

Siriraj Skin Laser Center hosted the 4th cadaver and hands-on workshop for fillers injection for Vietnamese doctors at Siriraj Training & Education Center for Clinical Skills on 2nd August 2019.
