


On October 31st, 2024, the Departments of Otorhinolaryngology, Anatomy, and Obstetrics and Gynecology, in partnership with Police General Hospital (PGH), hosted the Transoral Thyroidectomy Workshop. Held at the Thai-German Multidisciplinary Endoscopic Training Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, the event brought participants together to explore the latest innovations in transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via video-assisted techniques (TOETVA). The workshop aimed to equip surgeons with cutting-edge techniques for performing scar-free, minimally invasive thyroid surgery.
Opening remarks were delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Napakorn Sangchay, Chair of the Department of Anatomy; Asst. Prof. Paiboon Sureepong, 1st Deputy Chair of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology; and course director Pol. Maj. Col. Angkoon Anuwong, M.D., setting an inspiring tone for a day of transformative learning.
The program offered a blend of clinical anatomy lectures, hands-on training, and live surgery demonstrations led by renowned experts including Dr. Thanaporn Rungruang (Siriraj Hospital, Thailand), Dr. Angkoon Anuwong (Police General Hospital, Thailand), Dr. Paveena Pithuksurachai (Siriraj Hospital, Thailand), Dr. Prachya Maneeprasopchoke (Siriraj Hospital, Thailand), Dr. Tay Hin Ngan (Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Singapore), Dr. Nor Azham Hakim Darail (Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), and Dr. Athiwut Borvornwattanavanich (Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital, Thailand).
Gathering professionals from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore, the workshop promoted regional collaboration and strengthened best practices in thyroid surgery, marking a new era for transoral techniques.

Doctor Waranthorn Tungsatitchai, M.D., a 2nd-Year Resident, is attending an OR Observation Program at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, NYU Langone Hospital – Manhattan, New York, USA, from October 3rd – 23rd, 2024.
On October 2nd, 2024, Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Division, Department of Otorhinolaryngology collaborated with Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University and The Royal College of Otolaryngologists-Head and Neck Surgeons of Thailand hosted The 14th International Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Workshop in Soft Cadaver (Pre-Congress of APTS 2024, Thailand) at Siriraj Training and Education Center, 4th Floor, Srisavarindira Building.

On June 27th, 2024, the International Relations Division’s One Stop Service, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, celebrated our vibrant international community with a lively Coffee Party. The event served as a heartwarming opportunity to connect the graduating class of 2023 with incoming members of the class of 2024 while also bidding fond farewells to our graduating seniors, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
Welcome, Dr. Niña Kristine Sison Reyes and Dr. Lena Alethea A. Cruz from the Philippines, who will be attending Siriraj’s short training programs at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology from June 4th – September 6th, 2024. Dr. Niña Kristine Sison Reyes will participate in the “Clinical Observership Short Training Program in Laryngology and Swallowing,” while Dr. Lena Alethea A. Cruz will join the “Clinical Observership Short Training Program in Head and Neck Surgery.” These programs will be conducted under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Paiboon Sureepong, Head of the Laryngology, Head & Neck Surgery Division.

On April 26th, 2024 the “Siriraj International Residency & Fellow Exchange Program Committee” led by Assoc. Furthermore, the Committee also conducted a reviewing session for the reflection report of “Siriraj International Residency & Fellow Exchange Program 2024” round 1 and 2 presented by the former successful candidates.
