The original research paper from Siriraj Center of Research Excellence for Cancer Immunotherapy (SiCORE-CIT) entitled “Anti-Tumour Effect of the Fourth-Generation Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cells Targeting CD133 Against Cholangiocarcinoma Cells” by Ms. Thanich Sangsuwannukul (First Author) and Prof. Pa-thai Yenchitsomanus (Corresponding Author) was accepted to be published in ELSEVIER‘s International Immunopharmacology!

The “International Immunopharmacology” is the primary publication of original research papers pertinent to the overlapping areas of immunology, pharmacology, cytokine biology, immunotherapy, immunopathology, and immunotoxicology.

Research Management Webinar Series on “Turning Threat into Research Opportunities in COVID-19 Pandemic”

On August 28th, 2020 – Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital presided at the Research Management Webinar “Turning Threat into Research Opportunities in COVID-19 Pandemic”, which was held by Siriraj Center of Research Excellence Management Unit (SiCORE-M).

Meeting with Program Management Unit – Brain Power (PMUB)

On 30th July 2020, Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Prof. Dr. Prasert Auewarakul, Deputy Dean for Research along with SiCORE-M team (led by Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumethee, Manager) visited Program Management Unit – Brain Power (PMUB) at KX (Knowledge Exchange for Innovation) building. On this occasion, Dr. Kanyawim Kirtikorn, Acting Director of PMUB and her team welcomed the delegates. The purpose of this meeting was to provide a brief introduction of Faculty’s research management systems and SiCORE-M Unit. In addition, Dr. Kanyawim provided us an introduction of PMUB and the related research support policies. From the discussion on the procedure for research support and manpower development, we do realize that this would be of a great benefit to our research direction-setting and let us to become a part of cooperative research pathway under the National strategy.

The Opening Ceremony of Siriraj Tenure Club

On July 31st, 2020, Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital together with the Board of Siriraj Medical School, attended the opening ceremony of Siriraj Tenure Club at SiMR Auditorium, 12 Fl. The ‘Siriraj Tenure Club’ is a collaborated project among Academic Affairs Division, Human Resource Division, Research Division, and International Relations Division to prepare and enhance research and English communication skill for Faculty instructors who pursue higher studies abroad. #irsiriraj

SiCORE-M team visited Medicines Regulation Division, Food and Drug Administration

On 15th July 2020, Prof.Dr. Prasert Auewarakul, Deputy Dean for Research and SiCORE-M team (led by Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumethee, Manager) visited Medicines Regulation Division, Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Suchart Chongprasert, Director of Medicines Regulation Division welcomed the delegates from Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and discussed about procedures of drug registration, as well as Advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) process. Our team would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to Medicines Regulation Division for having offered us a great opportunity to meet with the director and team, and thank you most sincerely for the kind reception and hospitality also useful advice given to us.

 

Meeting with the Research Management and Development Division, Mahidol University.

On 26th June 2020, Prof.Dr. Prasert Auewarakul, Deputy Dean for Research and SiCORE-M team, led by Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumethee, Manager and his team visited the Research Management and Development Division, Mahidol University. In this occasion, Prof. Wachira Kochakarn, Acting Vice President for Research and Scientific Affairs, along with Prof. Narattaphol Charoenphandhu, and staff members from Research Management and Development Division, welcomed all visitors. This meeting provides the details of overall research management at Mahidol University and consultation about research manpower and funding. From this meeting, our research management team had certainly gained numerous insights and new ideas that will assist us immensely in the development of research and grant management.

 

Online meeting with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT)

On 23rd June 2020, Prof.Dr. Prasert Auewarakul, Deputy Dean for Research as the chairperson, along with Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee, Manager of Siriraj Center of Research Excellence Management Unit (SiCORE-M) and his team, hosted an initial online meeting with Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai Secretary-General of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). This meeting provided an opportunity to introduce SiCORE-M Unit and the Research Excellence Management System at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. The discussion and recommendation in strategic research management during this meeting would be of a great benefit to our research management prospects and the signature research programs.
