Oregon Health & Science University has partnered with Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital in order to help both institutions expand research capacity. As a result, both institutions are sharing research salary support in order to investigate innovative approaches to the prevention and treatment of HIV, Tuberculosis, Zika Virus, NCDs, Aflatoxin and Dengue Fever and to contribute the development and creation of research projects for research abroad.

On Monday 31 st October 2016, Clin. Prof. Udom Kachintorn, President of Mahidol University and Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital welcomed and participated in the research collaborative conference with President Joe Robertson and team from Oregon Health & Science University, USA.

 

      On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Ruengpung Sutthent, Deputy Dean of Research, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital likewise welcomed President Joe Robertson, Dr. Justin Denny, Dr.Marcel Curlin and Dr. Bill Messer global researcher team from Oregon Health & Science University, brought to visit laboratory facilities and discussed for research collaboration allowing for exchanges in student, faculty and research across all schools.

23th May 2016, Prof. George Banting, Dean of Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Bristol University, United Kingdom visited Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. On this occasion, he visited Siriraj laboratory, core facilities and education center. Moreover, Siriraj executive members and Prof. Banting have a terrific discussion in the term of collaboration in research and education.


In the afternoon, Dr. Jan Frayne and Dr. Marieangela Wilson, Bristol University, United Kingdom gave a special lecture “Blood pharming and the development of methodology for proteome-wide profiling, and comparative analysis of transcription factors in erythroid cells” to Siriraj staff at meeting room 101, Siriraj Medical Research Building (SiMR).
