The Department of Otolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, organized the “Short Course Training Program on Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy and Head Neck Surgery” from May 14–15, 2026, at the Siriraj Training and Education Center for Clinical Skills (SiTEC).
The workshop was expertly guided by a team of specialists from Siriraj Hospital, led by Course Directors Asst. Prof. Prachya Maneeprasopchoke and Asst. Prof. Paveena Pithuksurachai, along with Assoc. Prof. Warut Pongsapich and Asst. Prof. Paiboon Sureepong.
This intensive hands-on program was designed to advance knowledge and surgical skills in the Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular Approach (TOETVA) and complex head and neck surgeries. Participants engaged in expert lectures, specialized lunch symposia, and practical hands-on cadaver dissections at dedicated training stations.
The workshop integrated a structured hands-on training curriculum, combining theoretical components with extensive practical sessions. These included step-by-step TOETVA procedures, parotidectomy, neck dissection, laryngectomy, and various regional flap reconstructions (DP, PMM, and Forehead flaps) to enhance surgical proficiency.
Beyond skill development, the event aimed to foster ongoing medical education, promote multidisciplinary teamwork within the field, and ensure the highest standards of structural and functional outcomes in head and neck surgery.
