The 5th SEA Physician OCT Imaging Interpretation Course at Siriraj

On July 24th, 2024, Her Majesty’s Cardiac Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, hosted “The 5th SEA Physician OCT Imaging Interpretation Course” for cardiologists from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The course was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Nattawut Wongpraparut, MD, FESC, FACC, FSCAI, from the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, and his team.

The training program included:
– OCT Fundamentals
– Basic OCT Procedure
– MLD MAX OCT Algorithm
– OCT in Complex Lesions (focus on calcified lesions, ISR, ACS, and bifurcation)
– OCT Study of the Year
– Hands-on Offline Training with Demo Laptops
– OCT Case Observation in the Cath Lab (Live Cases)

Participants provided excellent feedback:
– 100% were satisfied with the program, hands-on sessions, and live cases.
– 98% would recommend the course to colleagues.
– The hands-on offline sessions, lectures, and live cases were noted as having the most significant impact on their learning.

Overall, the course successfully enhanced the OCT imaging skills of Southeast Asian cardiologists, fostering regional collaboration and expertise in cardiac care.
