Siriraj Scholarship for ASEAN and Developing Countries
The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University is delighted to announce the extension of the Siriraj Scholarship for ASEAN and Developing Countries (2026–2028).
This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration within the ASEAN and the developing countries’ network. The program offers a valuable opportunity for qualified doctors, academics, and health science professionals to join a short-term training program at Siriraj Hospital.
The scholarship aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise by enabling participants to observe and learn from Thailand’s medical and healthcare systems, thereby enriching the research environment. Through this program, we aim to empower healthcare professionals to apply the skills and insights they have gained to improve healthcare in their home countries.

About Program
Following the successful implementation of the Siriraj Scholarship for ASEAN and Developing Countries, the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, is pleased to announce the continuation of the program titled ‘Siriraj Scholarship for ASEAN and Developing Countries (2026–2028)’. This program is strictly designed as an observational opportunity. The scholarship provides medical professionals with the chance to observe medical practices, research, and Thailand’s healthcare system under the guidance of our personnel. We encourage candidates to thoroughly review the program’s observational focus to ensure it aligns with their professional development goals.
Objectives
- To support the ASEAN network collaboration, by offering those competent doctors, academics, and personnel in health science/ and public health fields in the ASEAN region and developing countries the opportunity for an international short-term training program at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University
- To provide the opportunity for those prospective candidates to explore the department or the training center, they are planning to enroll and to allow the department/training center to get to know and assess those prospective candidates before the enrollment process.
- To broaden the intercultural horizons of the faculty personnel to reach the international standard.
- To increase the visibility of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital as one of the leading medical institutions on both ASEAN regional and global scales.
The Eligible Countries
- ASEAN member countries: CLMV Countries (a sub-group with in ASEAN)
- Other developing countries: a group of low-income and lower-middle-income countries classified by the World Bank annually
- Remark: The list of countries is subject to a year of application. See the attached list of countries.
Who Can Apply
- The Applicant must be an inherent citizen with one of the nationalities mentioned above.
- The Applicant must hold the educational degree in Doctor of Medicine (MD) or MBBS,or must be an academic or personnel in health sciences or public health field and hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent.
The Category of Scholarships
Category 1- Scholarships for Short-term Training
– The rate of scholarships is a monthly stipend of 15,000 Thai Baht.
– Duration of the program is 1 – 3 months upon the availibility of the associated department.
Category 2 – Scholarships for Potential Candidates for Postgraduate Education Training
Program (Internship scholarship for further study)
– The relevant department must nominate the candidate.
– The duration of the program is 1 month.
– The scholarship rate is 15,000 Thai Baht/scholar.

- Read regulations and Course List
- Prapare the documents as follows:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
- The certificate of medical degree (or equivalent)
- Valid Practicing License
- A Letter of Certification or Recommendation from your institution
- COVID-19 vaccination certification showing at least 3 doses
- A recent photo with your full face looking straight at the camera like a passport photo (sample) in *.pdf or *.jpg file
- Personal Statement/ Motivation Letter; this part will provide the information for the department your interest and your background relating to them, etc.
- Apply on SIAD1-Form and submit the document though the online form
Selection Process
Our selection process consists of two steps:

Scholarship Committee Review
Your application will first be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee to determine eligibility and funding approval. -
Departmental Consideration
If your application passes the scholarship review, it will then be forwarded to the relevant department for final consideration.
Timeline:
The entire selection process takes approximately 3-4 months, depending on the departments. Applicants will be notified of the result once all evaluations are complete.

After Getting Acceptance
Next Steps After Receiving the Acceptance Letter
Once you have received your Acceptance Letter, please follow the instructions below to complete your pre-arrival process:

Visa Application
Use the acceptance letter to contact the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in your country to apply for a Non-Immigrant ED (Education) Visa. -
ST-2 Form Submission
Complete and submit the ST-2 Form, which includes:-
Immunization Record

Insurance Information
Submission is done via JotForm (a link will be provided).

Dormitory Arrangement
Dormitory accommodation will be provided subject to room availability.
Participants must accept the dormitory regulations by signing the consent form. -
Travel Itinerary Notification
Please send your flight itinerary to Bangkok to the International Relations (IR) Office via email as soon as your travel plans are confirmed.
