Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, joined 22 other international organizations to get endorsed as being Knowledge Ready for the future! Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital is the first Thailand organization that received the award at the Knowledge Management Conference!

The awards that was formalized four years ago by The Knowledge Management Society (KMS), Singapore is akin to a knowledge audit of six factors that are important for organizations to be ahead in ensuring that they are ready for transformation and to strengthen their organization’s Knowledge Management (KM) capabilities said Rajesh S Dhillon, President of KMS a non-profit organization.

The KRO award is a global award having had 23 winners thus far from Singapore, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Russia, and Thailand. The past winners included Yayasan MENDAKI, and the Ministry of Manpower from Singapore, NLB, MTI, NCSS, DSTA, SINGTEL NCS, IPOS and HSL Construction Pte Ltd.

 

Asst. Prof. Anupop Jitmuang from Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital conducted a research poster presentation on the topic “A case report of Talaromyces marneffei pharyngolaryngitis : A rare manifestation of talaromycosis at the 9th Trends in Medical Mycology, France during October 11th – 14th, 2019.

On October 14th, 2019, Prof. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, along with Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations joined the trip with executives from Mahidol University and administrative members of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital to attend the “Launching Ceremony of China – ASEAN University Consortium on Medicine and Health” co-hosted by ASEAN – China Centre and Peking University Health Science Center.

 

 

Assoc.Prof. Pisit Lertwanich from Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, delivered a special lecture on the topic “Approach to Athletic Groin Pain” at The 6th Biennial Asia Arthroscopy Congress & The 3rd Peking University Forum on Sports Medicine in Beijing, China, between October 11th – 13th, 2019.

On October 9th, 2019, Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, along with Prof. Suwannee Suraseranivongse, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School, Assoc. Prof. Rungnirand Praditsuwan, Deputy Dean for Undergraduate Education, Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Rattapon Thuangtong, Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Lect. Dr. Vitoon Chinswangwatanakul, Chairman of Siriraj Cancer Center, and Assoc. Prof. Ngamkae Ruangvaravate, Chairwoman of Department of Ophthalmology, welcome Prof. Dr. David W. Robinson, Executive Vice Provost of Oregon Health & Science University, and Asst. Prof. Sara Schwanke Khilji, Director for Interprofessional Education, OHSU Global (Bangkok), for the visit and discussion of current and future educational collaborations between Oregon Health & Science University and Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. the event took place at the Conference Room, Administration Building, Siriraj Hospital.

On October 9th, 2019, Dr. Sompop Suamphan, Acting Chairman of the Family and Alternative Medicine Department, Golden Jubilee Medical Center, welcomed students from “School for International Training Study Abroad Program – India: Public Health, Gender, and Community Action” to visit the Alternative Medicine Center, Mahidol University. The objective of this visit is to spend extensive time in under-resourced communities to understand inclusion and access to healthcare, focusing especially on reproductive and children’s health in Thailand.

Ms. Jutima Rattanakoch from Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital conducted a research poster presentation on the topic “The Utility of Open Source Copyleft Software for Evaluating Lumbar Lordosis in the Transfemoral Prosthesis Wearers” at ISPO 17th World Congress in Kobe, Japan, between October 5th – 8th, 2019.

Assoc.Prof. Nasikarn Angkasekwinai from Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital conducted a research poster presentation on the topic “Epidemiology of Invasive Group B Streptococcal Diseases in Adults at Siriraj Hospital” at ID Week 2019 in Washington D.C., USA, between October 2nd – 6th, 2019.

Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations and the President of IASGO: Thailand Chapter welcomed all distinguished participants from all over the world to the 31st World Congress of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists 2019 (IASGO 2019) at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World, Bangkok, Thailand.

IASGO 2019 is the world congress held during October 3rd – 5th, 2019 under the objective to provide an opportunity for surgeons, gastroenterologists and oncologists from around the world to share the most updated knowledge and expertise, and to exchange the new approaches and challenges that we all would encounter in the field of Surgical endoscopy, GI tract surgery, HPB surgery, and Oncology.
