From May 3rd – 7th, 2024, Doctor Tanun Jitwatcharakomol from the Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a digital poster on the topic “Introduction Non-irradiated Area of Intraoperative Radiotherapy with Electron Technique: Outcomes and Pattern of Failure in Early-Stage Breast Cancer from a Single-Center, Retrospective Registry Study” at “The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) 2024” in Glasgow, UK.

ESTRO’s vision statement ‘Radiation Oncology. Optimal Health for All, Together.’ emphasizes the ambition of ESTRO to further reinforce radiation oncology as a core partner in multidisciplinary cancer care and to guarantee accessible and high-value radiation therapy for all cancer patients who need it. ESTRO actively focuses on translating science and evidence into practice to support all radiotherapy professionals in their needs for continuous professional development. ESTRO will also increasingly embrace its role in policy through a broadening network of partnerships with all relevant stakeholders.

On April 29th, 2024, Welcome, Dr. Haiyuan Shi, a consultant interventional radiologist and Minghui Low, a radiographer from Changi General Hospital, Singapore to attend “Short 1-week Clinical Observership at Radiology Department” at the Center of Interventional Radiology, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, between April 29th – May 3rd, 2024.

From March 22nd – 24th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Kanyarat Totanarungroj, M.D., of the Division of Diagnostic Radiology, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, participated in the “22nd Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOCR 2024)” in Taipei, Taiwan, to present an e-poster presentation on the topic “CTR on Lateral Chest Radiograph for Diagnose Left Ventricular Enlargement”.

The “22nd Asia Oceanian Congress of Radiology: The Precision of Radiology (AOCR 2024)” is an annual conference that features recent progress in radiology, such as the application of AI in radiology throughout the entire scientific program. AOCR 2024 aims to facilitate vivid discussions and explore possibilities for advancing practices in the field of Radiology, with an estimated participation of approximately 1,500 attendees who will register and attend the on-site conference.

From March 22nd – 24th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Wanwarang Teerasamit, M.D., of the Division of Diagnostic Radiology, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, participated in the “22nd Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOCR 2024)” in Taipei, Taiwan, to present a poster presentation on the topic “The frequency of HCCs in LI-RADS category 4 determined by major features comparison to upgraded LI-RADS 4 in gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI of liver, do the ancillary features make it better or worse?” as a demonstration of the advancement in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) diagnosis by the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, one of the premier medical institutions in Thailand!

On March 21st, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, the Deputy Dean for Corporate Communications and International Relations, and Members from the department of Radiology led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kullathorn Thephamongkho, Assoc. Prof. Pittaya Dankulchai, Asst. Prof. Warissara Rongthon and Dr. Tanun Jitwatcharakomol welcomed Prof. Kenneth R. Olivier from Mayo Clinic Rochester, USA, with expertise in Radiation Oncology, to serve as Siriraj Visiting Scholars at the Department of Radiology from March 18th-29th, 2024.

Welcome Letitia Carina Olteanu, a 5th-year medical student from Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara, Romania, to undertake elective study at the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine (CATTM) from March 4th  to 8th , 2024; the Division of Nuclear Medicine, Department of Radiology from March 11th to 15th, 2024; and the Division of Endocrine & Metabolism, Department of Medicine from March 18th to 29th, 2024, at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

On February, 27th, 2024, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University along with Siriraj members: Prof. Dr. Yongyut Sirivatanauksorn, Director of Siriraj Hospital; Assoc. Prof. Kanokwaroon Watananirun, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations; Assoc. Prof. Pittaya Dankulchai, Head of Radiation Therapy; and Mr. Wisawa Phongprapun, Medical Physicist from Department of Radiology and Prof. Koji Ono, Director of the Kansai BNCT Medical Center at Osaka Medical College, Japan and members from BNCT Medical Center presided over Agreement on boron neutron capture therapy research promotion Signing Ceremony to foster research collaboration between two institutions.
