Dr. Jatuporn Sujjitjoon, PhD, a researcher at the Molecular Medicine Research Center, Department of Research, and a key member of the Siriraj Center of Research Excellence for Cancer Immunotherapy (SiCORE-CIT), participated in the ESMO Immuno-Oncology Congress 2024 held in Geneva, Switzerland, from December 11th – 13th, 2024.
Dr. Sujjitjoon presented two impactful poster presentations:
- “Superior Antitumor Activities of Fourth-Generation CAR-T Cells Containing Three Costimulatory Domains Targeting GD2-Positive Tumors”
- “Potent Antitumor Efficiency of CD19-CAR T Cells Self-Secreting PD-L1 x CD3 BiTE Against Aggressive B-Cell Lymphoma”
Her contributions underscored advancements in CAR-T cell technologies and explored the development of multispecific immunotherapies for solid tumors.
The ESMO Immuno-Oncology Congress 2024 offered an advanced educational program and highlighted the latest scientific developments in this rapidly evolving field. Covering topics from the fundamentals of immunotherapies to cutting-edge research, treatment strategies, toxicity management, and data interpretation, the congress catered to oncology professionals dedicated to advancing cancer treatment through immunotherapy innovations.

Prof. Dr. Pa-Thai Yenchitsomanus, Director of Siriraj Center of Research Excellence for Cancer Immunotherapy; Asst. Prof. Dr. Muttita Junking, Head Division of Molecular Medicine, Research Department; and Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations, extended a warm welcome to Prof. George S. Baillie from the University of Glasgow, UK, specializing in Therapeutic Peptides and CAR-T Cell Technology. Prof. Baillie, an esteemed researcher, to serve as the visiting scholar at the Research Department from March 4th to 8th, 2024.
During October 19th – 21st, 2023, Researcher Piriya Luangwattananun, Ph.D., of the Division of Molecular Medicine and Siriraj Center of Research Excellence for Cancer Immunotherapy (SiCORE-CIT), Research Department, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended ‘The 8th Congress on Controversies in Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies (COSTEM 2023)’ in Berlin, Germany, and presented a research poster on the topic “Identification of Human Leukocyte Antigen-A*0201-Restricted Epitopes of the Folate Receptor Alpha Antigen for Activation of Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes”. The participation of Researcher Luangwattananun is poised to contribute significantly to the research development at Siriraj Hospital. The insights gained from participating in COSTEM 2023 not only provide cutting-edge information in the realm of cancer immunotherapy on a global scale but also illuminate the current perspectives of clinicians regarding this innovative approach to treating cancer. This wealth of knowledge will seamlessly integrate into ongoing research initiatives and future project development at Siriraj Hospital.
The 8th Congress on Controversies in Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies (COSTEM 2023) is an annual event to share scientific research, clinical experience, and ongoing developments in Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies. COSTEM encourages active participation in debate discussions and challenges global experts on a wide range of current issues – providing clinicians the opportunity to share, express, and compare experiences with the goal of establish and advance effective and reliable patient treatments. The 8th COSTEM Congress will continue to serve as a unique platform with a program that showcases the most compelling and controversial topics facing clinicians in an exciting debate forum.

Dr. Kamonlapat Supimon, a researcher from Siriraj Center of Research Excellence for Cancer Immunotherapy (SiCORE-CIT), Research Department, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered a poster presentation on the topic “Fourth-Generation Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cells Targeting Mucin 1 Against Breast Cancer” at The 144th American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023 in Orlando, USA, between April 14th – 19th, 2023.
The AACR Annual Meeting is the focal point of the cancer research community, where scientists, clinicians, other healthcare professionals, survivors, patients, and advocates gather to share the latest advances in cancer science and medicine. From population science and prevention; to cancer biology, translational, and clinical studies; to survivorship and advocacy, the AACR Annual Meeting highlights the work of the best minds in cancer research from institutions all over the world!

On November 20th, 2018, Lect. Dr. Mutita Junking delivered a talk on “T Cell-Based Immunotherapy in Opisthorchis Viverrini-Related Cholangiocarcinoma and Other Cancers” at the Main Auditorium, School of Medicine, Kyungpook National University, South Korea.
