16th ASEAN MEDICAL DEANS’ SUMMIT and AMSN Student Chapter in Vietnam
Our Siriraj Faculty Members, including Assoc.Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan (Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations), Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee (Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation), Assoc.Prof. Chantacha Sitticharoon (Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Education), Assoc.Prof. Peti Thuwajit (Assistant Dean of Postgraduate Education), Asst.Prof. Kanokwaroon Watananirun (Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations), and Ms. Arada Subsiripaiboon (Medical Student), participate in the 16th ASEAN Medical Deans’ Summit (AMDS) 2026!
Held from 18–20 June 2026, the summit brings together leaders in health professions education from across the ASEAN region under the theme “Innovating Together: Driving Transformation in Medical Education and Health Care.” Hosted by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP), Vietnam, the summit serves as a vital platform to turn regional challenges into collaborative, measurable outcomes.
The event opens with a welcoming ceremony and remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Yang Faridah Abdul Aziz, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Nguyen The Nguyen. The rich academic program includes three plenary sessions and simultaneous sessions covering key global trends such as AI in Healthcare, Faculty Development for Internationalization and Digital Transformation, and Supporting Student Mental Health.
Siriraj Highlight: A proud moment for our institution as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chantacha Sitticharoon delivered an insightful presentation on “From Admission to Outcomes: Non-Compensatory and Holistic Evaluation in Medical Education for Global Integration” during Plenary Session I!
Concurrently, the AMSN Student Chapter 2026 features interactive presentations and team discussions focusing on the application of Artificial Intelligence in medical education, integrating Virtual Reality in clinical reasoning, and building a collaborative network of medical students across ASEAN borders.
Representatives from leading ASEAN institutions engage in meaningful discussions to develop real-world frameworks for digital clinical learning and international exchanges. AMDS 2026 concludes with a strong collective vision—to transform dialogue into action and drive forward excellence in medical education and healthcare across ASEAN. 🚀
