44th International Temporal Bone Surgical Dissection Course Held at Siriraj
The 44th International Temporal Bone Surgical Dissection Course took place on November 18th-21th, 2025, at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University organized by Otological Center, Bangkok unit and Hearing International, and Department of Otorhinolaryngology.
Across three days, participants engaged in a blend of expert-led lectures and hands-on temporal bone drilling sessions. The program featured key topics such as facial nerve decompression, mastoidectomy and cholesteatoma management, ossiculoplasty, otosclerosis surgery, middle ear reconstruction, and IAC lesions and approaches.
Distinguished faculty members including Asst. Prof. Samut Chongvisal, Prof. Alex Saxby, Sydney University, Australia, Asst. Prof. Sarun Prakairungthong, Chairman of Department of Otorhinolaryngology, and Prof. Herman Jenkins, University of Colorado, USA, guided participants through complex anatomical landmarks and modern operative techniques. Each afternoon was dedicated to structured drilling practice, allowing attendees to apply surgical principles directly under faculty supervision.
The course remains one of Siriraj’s flagship training programs, attracting ENT surgeons and trainees from around the world to refine their temporal bone skills using high-fidelity laboratory facilities and individualized mentorship.
