Executive’s Visits to Siriraj Centers of Research Excellence (SiCOREs) during 2024–2026
Throughout 2024–2026, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, together with Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee, M.D., Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, visited the six Siriraj Centers of Research Excellence (SiCOREs), including including the Siriraj Center of Research Excellence in Allergy and Immunology (SiCORE-Allergy), Siriraj Center of Research Excellence in Dengue and Emerging Pathogens (SiCORE-Dengue), Siriraj Center of Research Excellence in Precision Medicine and Systems Pharmacology (SiCORE-PM&SP), Siriraj Center of Research Excellence in Cardiovascular Diseases (SiCORE-CVD), Siriraj Center of Research Excellence in Diabetes and Obesity (SiCORE-DO), and Siriraj Center of Research Excellence in Metabolomics and Systems Biology (SiCORE-MSB).
The visits provided an opportunity for the Siriraj’s leadership to engage directly with researchers, learn about each center’s achievements and ongoing research activities, and gain insights into emerging opportunities and challenges. During the visits, the Dean and Deputy Dean shared valuable perspectives and strategic guidance on future research directions, capacity building, international collaboration, and the translation of research into meaningful impact.
These visits reflect the Faculty’s continued commitment to supporting research excellence, fostering innovation, and strengthening the long-term development of the SiCOREs. Through close engagement between institutional leadership and research teams, Siriraj continues to advance its mission of generating high-impact research that addresses major health challenges and benefits patients, healthcare systems, and society.
