On January 16^th, 2026, Associate Professor Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations, and Assistant Professor Kanokwaroon Watananirun, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations, welcomed Professor Makoto Kurachi, Associate Dean for International Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine, Kanazawa University, Japan, for discussions regarding potential student exchange programs between the two institutions.

While Kanazawa University and Mahidol University maintain an existing inter-university exchange agreement, there has been limited active exchange between the respective medical schools. Kanazawa University is currently seeking to strengthen collaboration with international partner universities as part of its internationalization strategy. Both institutions expressed interest in establishing short-term reciprocal medical student exchanges as an initial step toward enhanced academic cooperation.

The meeting represents ongoing efforts to expand international educational opportunities and foster academic partnerships in medical education between the two universities.
