German Paramedic Explores Thailand’s Emergency Medical Services at SiEMS
On April 30th, 2026, the Siriraj Emergency Medical Service Center (SiEMS) welcomed Ms. Mareike Hamscher, a paramedic from Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Rettungsdienst Rheinhessen-Nahe gGmbH in Germany, for an educational site visit and observation program from 12:30 – 16:00.
The comprehensive program was led by Assistant Professor Sattha Riyapan, President of SiEMS, who provided insights into Thailand’s Emergency Medical Service system and SiEMS’s specialized EMS operations. Ms. Hamscher had the opportunity to observe the practice of SiEMS’s emergency medical team and learn about the innovative approaches to emergency care delivery in Thailand.
This international exchange reflects SiEMS’s commitment to sharing knowledge and best practices in emergency medical services while fostering global partnerships that enhance emergency care standards. The visit facilitated valuable cross-cultural learning and professional development opportunities for both German and Thai emergency medical professionals.
