Mahidol University Delegation Visits Tsinghua University to Explore Medical Collaboration
November 13th, 2025 – Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, M.D., Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, traveled to Beijing, China, accompanied by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, Clinical Prof. Emeritus Udom Kachintorn, M.D., Advisor to Mahidol University, Clinical Prof. Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, and other Mahidol University executives.
The delegation visited the Faculty of Medicine at Tsinghua University to establish connections and negotiate collaborations in various areas, including student exchange programs, medical research initiatives, and the application of AI technology in medicine.
Tsinghua University has implemented advanced AI technology in establishing an AI Agent Hospital, which supports medical education and virtual patient care expertise with an accuracy rate exceeding 90%.
Prof. Wong Tien Yin, Senior Vice-Chancellor, along with Tsinghua University’s executive team, welcomed the Thai delegation. Both institutions exchanged knowledge and experiences across multiple domains and planned a joint Research Symposium for 2026, which will focus on Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine, as well as the integration of AI technology in medical education and training.
