Siriraj Faculty Abroad at KoreAnesthesia2025 in Korea
Lecturer Jitsupa Nithiuthai, MD, from the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, participated in the prestigious KoreAnesthesia 2025 Conference (The 102nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Korean Society of Anesthesiologists) held in Incheon, Republic of Korea, from November 6th-8th, 2025.
Dr. Nithiuthai presented her significant research poster titled “Clinical Outcomes, Incidence and Risk Factors of Intensive Care Unit Admission Among Parturients Undergoing Cesarean Delivery with Postpartum Hemorrhage in Thailand: A Secondary Analysis From Perioperative Data.“
The knowledge gained from this international conference will substantially benefit Siriraj Hospital’s maternal care protocols. Dr. Nithiuthai returns with evidence-based strategies to enhance the institution’s approach to postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) management, including early coagulopathy recognition through fibrinogen/D-dimer monitoring or bedside TEG/ROTEM implementation, standardized timing for tranexamic acid (TXA) administration to address hyperfibrinolysis, and optimized massive transfusion protocols with clear ICU referral criteria.
These improvements aim to reduce preventable ICU admissions, decrease length of stay in both ICU and ward settings, optimize blood product utilization, and ultimately enhance maternal care outcomes at Siriraj Hospital.
KoreAnesthesia 2025 presents an extensive and forward-looking scientific program, featuring 205 lectures and 8 workshops, with 384 abstracts submitted from 20 countries and more than 2,300 pre-registered participants representing 37 nations. This truly global gathering served as a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas, advancing innovation, and shaping the future of anesthesiology and pain medicine.
