Siriraj Secures British Council Grant to Co-Develop Dual MSc Programme with the University of Edinburgh, UK

The Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, has been awarded the Transnational Education (TNE) Exploratory Grant from the British Council, valued at £25,000 (approximately THB 1.06 million), to advance academic collaboration with the School of Biological Sciences, the University of Edinburgh —one of the United Kingdom’s leading research-intensive institutions.

Under this initiative, both institutions will jointly develop a Dual Master of Science (MSc) Programme in AI in Precision Drug Discovery and Personalized Medicine, with the objective of strengthening human capital and delivering educational innovation at an international level.

Key Objectives of the Collaboration
– Conduct an Industry Skills Survey to identify essential competencies for future graduates
– Establish TNE governance and quality assurance frameworks 📑 aligned with the University of Edinburgh
– Design an innovative Dual MSc Programme integrating interdisciplinary science and industry needs, exceeding international benchmarks
– Enhance faculty and staff expertise through co-teaching and academic exchange
– Strengthen the capacity of Thai students and researchers in AI-driven drug discovery and precision medicine, while attracting international learners

Expected Outcomes by 2027
– A complete Dual MSc curriculum draft, including structure, modules, and joint teaching plans
– An Industry Skills Report informing learning outcomes and curriculum design
– Expanded research and educational collaboration between Siriraj and the University of Edinburgh
– Capacity building in AI, omics, imaging, and precision therapeutics
