Siriraj’s School Advances International Academic Collaboration in Prosthetics and Orthotics
The Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics (SSPO), Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, conducted a strategic academic mission to Jakarta, Indonesia, from February 13-15, 2026, aimed at strengthening international educational partnerships and advancing professional development in the field.
Associate Professor Gulapar Srisawasdi, MD, Director of SSPO, accompanied by Assistant Lecturer Nathanit Jirapongpathai, visited the Jakarta School of Prosthetics and Orthotics on February 13, 2026. The academic delegation engaged in substantive discussions with institutional leadership and faculty members regarding the renewal of the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The discussions focused on enhancing collaborative educational initiatives and advancing professional development standards in Prosthetics and Orthotics across the regional academic community.
On February 14-15, 2026, the SSPO representatives participated as invited speakers at the 5th ISPO Indonesia Scientific Meeting, Symposium and Workshop. Dr. Srisawasdi and Ms. Jirapongpathai delivered specialized academic presentations on diabetic foot management, contributing to interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and professional capacity development within the prosthetics and orthotics community.
The academic mission represents part of SSPO’s ongoing commitment to international collaboration and knowledge transfer in specialized medical fields. These initiatives facilitate the exchange of clinical expertise, educational methodologies, and research findings between institutions, thereby supporting the advancement of prosthetics and orthotics education and practice standards at the regional level.
The collaboration underscores the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital’s role in fostering international academic partnerships and contributing to specialized medical education across Southeast Asia.
