Cancer Immunodiagnosis
Assoc.Prof.Dr.Peti Thuwajit (M.D., Ph.D. (Biochemistry))
Our team is interested in the effect of cancer microenvironment on cancer progression and treatment response. We are interested in dendritic cell, neoantigen, and adoptive T cell therapy for management of advanced cancer patients.
Your current research focuses on …
Our research works are focusing of detection and diagnosis of cancer by various methods. The research scopes are including the identification of malignancy in inconclusive biliary stricture by DNA methylation or lipidomic markers, development of molecular probes such as single chain variable fragments and affinity peptides for cancer detection and therapy. The mechanism of estrogen in cancer progression is also our interest.
A summary of your research accomplishments
We can determine cholangiocarcinoma in biliary stricture by methylation markers with sensitivity, specificity and accuracy more than 90% while routine brush cytology has sensitivity around 60%. We introduced the usage of lipidomics in detection of cholangiocarcinoma in biliary stricture. We have affinity molecules against cancer cells. We demonstrated the role of estrogen in cholangiocarcinoma progression.
