On March 27th, 2019, Ms. Zhang Shuyang, Vice President of Peking Union Medical College Hospital along with the hospital team welcomed Siriraj executives who attended “The Abridge Business Certificate (ABC) 6th Generation” from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Suroj Supavekin, Deputy Dean of Human Resource, and Assoc. Prof. Ravit Ruangtrakool, Assistant Dean of Human Resource.

The Dermatosurgery Division of the Siriraj Hospital Department of Dermatology presented five abstracts at the recently concluded American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, Inc. 39th Annual Conference held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado last March 27 to 31, 2019.

These abstracts were collaborative efforts between professors, clinical instructors, and fellows from the Dermatosurgery Division. The following studies were presented during the meeting:

“A prospective, split-face, randomized study comparing a 755nm picosecond laser with and without diffractive lens array (DLA) in the treatment of the unwanted pigment component of melasma in Asians” by Prof. Dr. Woraphong Manuskiatti et al. (30 March 2019)

“A study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of 1064-nm picosecond laser with fractionated micro lens array (MLA) for the treatment of atrophic acne scar in Asians” by Prof. Dr. Woraphong Manuskiatti et al. (30 March 2019)

“The efficacy in treatment of facial melasma with thulium 1927nm fractional laser-assisted topical tranexamic acid delivery: a split-face, double-blind, randomized controlled pilot study” by Dr. Francesca Sy-Alvarado and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rungsima Wanitphakdeedecha et al. (30 March 2019)

Aside from these presentations, two Dermatosurgery fellows, Dr. Kristy Elleza Evangelista, and Dr. Francesca Sumilang Sy-Alvarado received educational grants from ASLMS.

On March 26th, 2019, Prof. Quidan Sun, Director of Office of International Cooperation of Peking University Health Science Center along with the hospital team welcomed Siriraj executives who attended “The Abridge Business Certificate (ABC) 6th Generation” from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, led by Assoc.Prof. Suroj Supavekin, Deputy Dean of Human Resource, and Assoc. On Mach 26th, 2019, Dr.Chein-Chang Chen, the Director of International Affairs, Academia Sinica, Taiwan received a warm welcome to the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital from Assoc. Prof. Dr.Suwattanee Kooptiwut, Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Education.

Apart from a brief visit to Physiology Department Laboratory and Siriraj Clinical Research Center (SiCRC), the Taiwanese scholar gave a research talk on “No Pain No Gain and No Protection: Chronic Paon Protects Heart From Ischemia-reperfusion Injury” and introduced the Academia Sinica’s summer internship program and international program to Siriraj’s postgraduates and those interested at the Physiology Department Auditorium, 13th floor, Srisavarindhira Building.

On March 26th, 2019, Mr. Jin Changxiao, Party Secretary of Peking University Third Hospital along with Dr. Wang Jianquan, Associate Dean for Operation Management, and Dr. Shen Ning, Associate Dean for Medical Education with the hospital administrative members welcomed Siriraj executives who attended “The Abridge Business Certificate 6th Generation (ABC 6)” from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, led by Assoc.Prof. Suroj Supavekin, Deputy Dean of Human Resource, and Assoc.
