On May 28th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Nantthasorn Zinboonyahgoon, M.D., attended the “Seventy-seventh World Health Assembly (WHA77)” in Geneva, Switzerland. Assoc. Prof. Zinboonyahgoon represented the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) at this significant global health forum.

In addition to participating in the main assembly, Assoc. Prof. Zinboonyahgoon was also invited to be a panelist with representatives from WHO, WFSA, WRA, and Rwanda at the side event titled “Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Health for All Means Pain Care for All.” This event was co-hosted by the IASP and the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA) for a panel discussion on current approaches for better diagnosis and management of pain in various countries that serve as models worldwide!

From May 17th – 19th, 2024, Asst. Prof. Karuna Wongtangman, M.D., a Vice Chair of Perioperative Quality and Safety, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered an oral abstract presentation at the “International Anesthesia Research Society Meeting 2024” in Seattle, USA, on the topic “Ketamine-Fentanyl Versus Fentanyl for Analgosedation in Postoperative Intensive Care Patients: A Randomized Controlled Trial”. This participation aims to refine the manuscript and implement its findings in patient care.

The IARS Meeting 2024 is the world’s leading conference for anesthesia educators and researchers, focusing on the latest advancements and clinical research in anesthesia. The conference highlights the importance of education and research in enhancing patient care and advancing the field of clinical anesthesia.

From April 13th – 16th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Pramote Euasobhon, M.D., from the Division of Pain Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited as a guest speaker at the “World Congress of Nephrology 2024 (WCN2024)” in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to present on the topic “Non-pharmacologic Management of Pain in Chronic Kidney Disease”. Upon his return, Siriraj Hospital will benefit from his international collaboration with leading experts in the field. The knowledge gained from the conference will be applied to patient care at Siriraj Hospital.

The World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) is the annual scientific, educational, and networking meeting of the International Society of Nephrology. The WCN features regionally-relevant symposia, presentations, training programs, and courses, offering the latest science and state-of-the-art education in nephrology.

From March 3rd – 7th, 2024, Asst. Prof. Nophanan Chaikittisilpa, M.D., from the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, participated in the “18th World Congress of Anesthesiologists (WCA2024)” in Singapore and presented a research poster on the topic: “Delayed Enteral Feeding in Critically Ill Patients After Cardiac Surgery: A Retrospective Study. This engagement allowed Asst. Prof. Chaikittisilpa to foster networking opportunities and potential collaborations within the field.

From March 3rd – 7th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Kasana Raksamani, M.D., from the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, participated in the “18th World Congress of Anesthesiologists (WCA2024)” in Singapore. During the congress, Assoc. Prof. Raksamani delivered presentations on two crucial topics: “Anesthesia Crisis in Resource-Limited Settings” and “Toxic Communication in the Operating Room”. This engagement allowed Assoc. Prof. Raksamani to foster networking opportunities and potential collaborations within the field.

During March 3rd – 7th, 2024, Asst. Prof. Taniga Kiatchai, M.D., from the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the 18th World Congress of Anesthesiologists (WCA2024) in Singapore and presented a poster presentation on the topic “Incidence of In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest and Mortality following Pediatric Cardiac Surgery: a retrospective study in 1,785 Anesthetics in Thailand”. Asst. Prof. Kiatchai’s attendance at the congress served the purpose of staying abreast of the latest advancements in anesthesia monitoring and management.

Between March 3rd – 7th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Suwimon Tangwiwat, M.D., a Vice-Chair of Academic Affairs, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited to attend the 18th World Congress of Anesthesiologists (WCA2024) in Singapore and served as a poster presentation moderator; a session Chair: video for the challenging cases; a workshop instructor on the topic “knee analgesia”; and delivered a special lecture “Prolonging postoperative analgesia-IV /local anesthetic adjuncts& continuous catheter technique.”
