Welcome Ms. Yen Cheun Bong, and Ms. Dina Jiesisibieke, 5th-year medical students from Peking University Health Science Center, China to undertake an elective study at Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, from November 20th – December 2nd , 2023 and Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery from December 4th – 15th, 2023.

 

On November 7th, 2023, Professor Apichat Asavamongkolkul, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with administrative members, presided over an awards ceremony recognizing the achievements in “Educational Unit English Performance,” which had been assessed by the International Relations Office. This initiative aimed at assessing the level of English proficiency within all 28 departments and schools in the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. During September 18th-22nd, 2023, Prof. Roja Rahimi, the Dean of the School of Persian Medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in Iran, specializing in Traditional Pharmacy, served as a visiting scholar at the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

On this occasion, Prof. Rahimi and Dr. Arman Zarearan from the School of Persian Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences also visited and discussed at Applied Thai Traditional Medicine Clinic and Mahidol University Salaya Campus, Nakhon Pathom.

On September 22nd, 2023, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and  Prof. Roja Rahimi, Dean of School of Persian Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran together with the administrative members of both universities: Assoc. Prof. Pravit Akarasereenont, Director of the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, Asst. Prof. Ueamphon Suwannatrai, Asst. Prof. Supakij Suwannatrai, Asst. Prof. Thapthep Thippayacharoentam, and Dr. Arman Zarearan from the School of Persian Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences presided over the “Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony” between the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University and School of Persian Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, for the collaboration on academic and research exchange between Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine and School of Persian Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

 

On August 11th, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, M.D., Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations, and Assoc. Prof. Pravit Akarasereenont, M.D., the Director of the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine welcomed Dr.dr. Sri Sundari.M Kes, Dean Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences along with the delegates from Faculty of Medicine Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia: dr. Siti Aminah TSE, M.Kes, SpKK.,  Vice Dean of human resource and funding; dr. Ika Setyawati, MSc School of Medicine Program Study Secretary; dr. Ikhlas M. Jenie, PhD., Head of Quality Assurance; and dr. Farindira Vesti Rahmasari, MSc. on visit and discussion at Medical Education Technology Center, Siriraj Medical Simulation Center for Education and Training (SiMSET), and Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine (Center of Excellence Management).

On June 19th, 2023, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Lect. Sukree Kade from the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine cordially welcomed Prof. Dr. Liu Wai Ching, Prof. Dr. Au Ching Tung, and Prof. Dr. Choi Suimei from the Department of Food and Health Sciences, Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. During their visit and discussions on further collaboration between two parties at the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, the experts shared their knowledge and expertise in both Thai and traditional medicine.

Furthermore, Dr. Sukree also took the guests through the enlightening ‘Following the Footsteps of Royal Doctor and Thai Traditional Medicine’ exhibition organized by the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine. This exhibition showcased the rich heritage and practices of Thai traditional medicine, providing a comprehensive understanding of its historical significance and contemporary applications. Dr. Sukree’s guidance enhanced the visitors’ experience, ensuring they gained valuable insights into the subject.

Welcome Miss Yuho Itaya, Mr. Kento Masui, and Mr. Taisei Higuchi, 5th-year medical students from Hokkaido University, Japan to undertake an elective study at the Departments of Surgery, Department of Medicine, Department of Radiology, and the Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine from June 12th – July 7ths, 2023.

On May 15th, 2023, Siriraj Palliative Care Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University led by Mr. Puchong Chimpiboon, Music Therapist welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dena Register, Assoc. Prof. Kimberly Sena Moore, and a group of music therapy students from Florida Gulf Coast University, USA to visit and discuss at Siriraj Palliative Care Center which was part of “Music Therapy in Thailand Study Aboard, 2023” running from May 10th – June 23rd, 2023. On this occasion, our guests attended the lecture on the topic “Thai Culture and Believes relates to Health issues” by Dr. Anuwat Taweesuwanakra, M.D. as well as visited the Siriraj Bimuksthan Museum and Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine.

 

Siriraj has a longstanding relationship with Assoc. Prof. Register, founded the first music therapy program in Southeast Asia at the College of Music, Mahidol University. Through this visit and music therapy exchange opportunity, both parties aim to promote music therapy by conducting remote conferences, exhibitions, and music therapy services.
