Congratulations to Dr. Rabindra Baskora from Nepal who completed the training under Siriraj Scholarship for Doctors from ASEAN and Developing Countries at Division of Hair disorders and Hair Transplantation, Department of Dermatology during February 1 – 28, 2018. The certificate was granted by Professor Kanokwalai Kulthanan, Chairwoman of Department of Dermatology and witnessed by Assistant Professor Rattapon Thuangtong, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs.

On February 26, 2018, Professor Prasert Assantachai, Deputy Dean and Head of Geriatric Medicine along with the faculty staffs from Division of Geriatric Medicine welcomed Professor Hidetoshi Endo, Director of Department of Comprehensive Geriatric Medicine and Dr. Yuichi Kitagawa, National Center for Geriatric and Gerontology, Japan, to visit Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.

On this occasion, Professor Assantachai and Professor Endo delivered the lecture on “How to Treat Dementia in Elderly: Lesson Learn in Japan” for healthy volunteers and caregivers in their communities. This campaign is settled at Samutsakhon province with the contribution of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and the Ministry of Public Health in order to raise the awareness of the so-called “Long-Term Care” as Thailand will be moving into Aged Society in 2022.

And on the evening of February 27, 2018, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital hosted the complimentary dinner for Professor Hidetoshi Endo and Dr. Yuichi Kitagawa at Wind Water View Restaurant, Wang Lang.

On February 20, 2018, Professor Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations along with Associate Professor Dr. Surapol Issaragrisil from Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine welcomed the world renowned scientists Professor Dr. Davor Solter, pioneer in epigenetics and reprogramming, and Professor Dr. Barbara Knowles from Institute of Medical Biology, Singapore, as visiting scholars to coach the medical personnel and researchers at the SiSCR, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.

Welcome, Ms. Aye Aye Aung, Medical Technologist from National Blood Centre, The Republic of the Union of Myanmar, to undertake the short training program “Overview of Flow Cytometry and Standard Flow Cytometry Procedure” at Department of Pediatrics, and Division of Instruments for Research, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, between February 20 – 23, 2018.

On February 15, 2018, five pathologists from The National Health Laboratory, Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Health and Sports, The Republic of the Union of Myanmar: Dr. Nan Nwe Soe, Dr. Yamon Myo, Dr. Khin Lay Htoon, Dr.Soe Sandar Aung, and Dr. Nang Mo Hom, attend “The Short-Training Program in Hematopathology, Renal Pathology, Eye Pathology, Renal Transplantation, and Neuropathology” at Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital between February 15 – March 28, 2018, under the supervision of Associate Professor Tumtip Sangruchi, Assistant Professor Tawatchai Pongpruttipun, and the academic staffs of Department of Pathology.

On February 12, 2018, Dr. Ei Ei Mon, Senior Consultant (Pathologist) from Department of Pathology, Pathein General Hospital, Myanmar, attended the short training program “Flow Cytometric and Molecular Analysis of Hematologic Malignancies” under the supervision of Dr. Archrob Khuhapinant and division staffs at Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital between February 12 – March 9, 2018.

On February 9, 2018, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital welcomes the delegation of Bangladesh medical doctors from Government Hospitals on the visit at Siriraj’s specialized units such as Her Majesty Queen Sirikit Cardiac Center, Siriraj G.I. Endoscopy Center, and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The main objective of the visit is to study in topics about “the preventive and curative care strategies to address heart diseases”, “modern equipment to improve quality of service management practices in specialized units”, and “overview of Siriraj Hospital”. The visitation of the group was organized and sponsored by Asian Institute of Technology (A.I.T).

On January 5, 2018, Assistant Professor Dr. Puttinun Patpituck, Chairman of Medical Education Technology Center and team welcomed delegates from Kumamoto University, Japan: Professor Kazuhito Tomizawa, Vice Dean, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Professor Kenichi Tsujita from Department of Cardiology, Graduate School of Medical Science, Professor Seiji Okada from Center for AIDS Research & Graduate School of Medical Sciences and Mr. Eiichi Kiyonaga Officer in charge of Graduate School of Medical Sciences to visit Siriraj Medical Education Technology Center and Siriraj Medical Simulation Center for Education and Training (SiMSET).

Welcome, Professor John M. O’Donnell from The Winter Institute of Simulation Research (WISER), University of Pittsburgh, USA, to serve as Siriraj visiting scholar at Department of Emergency Medicine from January 29 – February 5, 2018. On this occasion, Professor O’Donnell also held simulation workshops on “Panel discussion for simulation research” on January 31, 2018, and “Simulation for Medical Education Assessment” on February 1-2, 2018.
